Conundrum: 1) We live in a world where it takes money to do much. 2) I do not like to ask for donations. 3) photography and especially video are expensive.
Thoughts: I have pondered this quite a lot. I may need to tweak this over time, but first, If I were to try and get funds to do neat stuff or keep things going, I need a plan that fits with my ethics.
Solution: Or a possible one, do something and provide a good or service, kinda like work should be, an equitable exchange of time, effort and knowledge in trade for funds. The key word here being “equitable” If this is not present, it is not ethical the way I see it.
Can I do something at your request?
Should anyone be interested, I would be happy to produce a photo I take in San Francisco upon request in equitable exchange for some funds. I do not have a “rate” and as such, open to an offer and requests.

- Unpublished photo of a place or event in SF of your request.

- Custom stock photo.
- One of a kind image created at your request.
- Special event photos – there are a lot of things that happen here: parades, marches, protests, etc.

- Video captions for one of your projects.
- English or provided text in another language.
- Specific color, fonts, etc.
- Caption animations
- I am still learning transcriptions but willing to talk about how to make visual and auditory work more accessible to people.
- I can also do public head-shots or other photos for those in the city for social media or some other use.
I just need to keep it legal and ethical.
(I am not going to chase after anyone or hangout outside their house or anything like that.)
Some details: I do watermark my images. Safety for all is important as is not getting into potential law-enforcement or related troubles.
How long does a commission take: Weather can be a factor at times. Completion time is something I work to do quickly but without reducing my work. It really depends on the request on exactly how fast I can get a commission to you. I can get head-shots next day if weather or other such uncontrollable factors allow.
